High cholesterol: Nicotine in cigarettes causes hardening of the
arteries.
Cardiovascular disease: Increased cholesterol means blood flow to
the heart becomes constricted causing heart disease, kills over
30,000 a year in the UK alone.
Cancer: Toxic substances in cigarettes can cause mutation of the
cells in lungs, mouth or throat which may cause cancer, kills over
40,000 year in the UK.
These are the main causes of death from smoking and here's a list of
some of the other potential smoking risks.

smoking didn't present any of these risks and cost nothing to buy
there's still another powerful negative effect that no one ever
considers. Psychological damage, always taken for granted but still
causes immense harm.
