Interested in finding out how does smoking affect the structure
of the lungs? Find out the shocking truth in this free report.
We all know the effects of smoking but did you know that the most
dangerously affected part of the body is the lungs.
Why?
Because smoke gets into the lungs before any other part of the body
(it passes through the mouth and throat before hand but they're more
robust than the lungs).
Then what happens?
Firstly the tar from cigarettes sticks to the cilia, very small hair
like structures which line the airways in the lungs. They work as a
sort of broom that sweeps out harmful dirt, unfortunately this isn't
the case with tar as it sticks to them making it very hard for it to
sweep up any more dirt. This makes it easier for harmful substances
to stay in the lungs.
After destroying cilia, mucus builds up and gets full of dirt, this
blocks the tiny airways making it difficult for air to get out, this
is why smokers cough more than most people, they need to get rid of
the dirty mucus.
Continued smoking causes mucus to build up in the lungs and becomes
thicker and thicker over time. This causes irritation and
inflammation.
Emphysema, Bronchitis and lung cancer may occur in the long term if
smoking continues for a long period of time. To see what smoking

unless you want this to happen to you then giving up smoking is a
must. Don't fall into the common trap of thinking that you only
smoke because you want to. There just the addictions playing tricks
on you. Unless you can stop smoking completely for a whole month
